Art Swift, Vice President
Arthur Swift draws on a rare combination of political, broadcasting, and international public
relations experience. After more than 15 years in the field of communications, Art has a proven
track record of raising the profile of technology companies, elected and appointed leaders and
grassroots coalitions. At The Herald Group, Art manages and coordinates nationwide advocacy
campaigns for corporate clients and prominent industry associations.
Art comes to The Herald Group from a large international public affairs firm, where he managed
clients including foreign governments, technology companies, consumer firms and defense
contractors. In 2010, this firm awarded him the company’s highest employee honor. Previously
he served as director of communications and public relations for the Northern Virginia
Technology Council, the largest technology trade association in the United States with more
than 1,100 member companies.
Art is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of
Journalism and later served as a broadcast reporter and producer in the Pacific Northwest, with
appearances on the digital network ABC News Now and the CBS affiliate in Boise, Idaho. His
involvement in the political and policy sector is also diverse, serving as director of research and
policy and chief of staff for the New York State Lieutenant Governor and as communications
director for the Idaho State Senate Majority Caucus.
