
A veteran of the political and public affairs arenas, Doug McGinn utilizes his communications skills to benefit a number of today’s leading corporations and industry associations. With over 14 years of experience, Doug brings a range of unique insights gained from senior campaign, legislative and private-sector executive positions.
Prior to co-founding The Herald Group, Doug worked for Dittus Communications. In this role, Doug was responsible for managing a number of key national and international accounts. From executive positioning and crisis communications to media relations and coalition development, he developed, managed and executed numerous award-winning strategic communications programs.
Doug also served on the executive team of Rainmaker Creative Public Relations, an integrated marketing services firm, where he served as a senior-level consultant to several leading technology companies and investment institutions.
Doug also has served as communications director and senior advisor to three Members of Congress. During this time, he helped to promote federal trade and technology programs that better reflected the growing needs of the increasingly digital, borderless economy.
An early practitioner in the use of Web-based technologies for legislative and grassroots campaigns, Doug also was at the forefront of efforts to mobilize digital-age voters. Through the establishment of issue-based management and outreach programs, his work enabled lawmakers to bypass traditional media constraints to reach targeted constituencies. Additionally, Doug served on the staff of Jack Kemp and William Bennett at Empower America, a nonprofit policy organization.
Doug holds a BA from the University of Kansas. He also is a Bryce Harlow Scholar and MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins University.
