Greg Thomas, Senior Grassroots Strategist
Greg Thomas coordinates grassroots programs for The Herald Group, leveraging his expertise to execute targeted and multi-state campaigns that incorporate community relations, corporate image, issue advocacy, independent expenditures and third-party development initiatives. Greg is a veteran communications strategist who has served as both architect and campaign manager for numerous corporate, political and non-profit engagements.
Greg’s past work includes managing multi-million dollar independent expenditures on behalf of industries, organizations and political candidates, as well as bond referendums. In these roles, Greg managed all facets of the campaigns, including communications strategy, advertising production and placement, direct mail, grassroots and grasstops mobilization, and statewide voter identification and activation plans.
Past campaign experience includes managing successful legislative and statewide races in the Mid-Atlantic including wins over two multi-decade long-term incumbents. Greg also served as communications director for U.S. Representative Randy Forbes (R-VA).
Additionally, he managed communications for Representative Forbes’ Congressional race and served as his northern Virginia field director in his statewide bid to be elected Lieutenant Governor.
Greg attended the Linsly School in Wheeling, WV before receiving degrees in both Economics Management and Political Science, with a minor in Public Service, from Hampden-Sydney College.
