Jeanie Mamo, Senior Vice President

Jeanie Mamo brings over 20 years of senior communications and public affairs experience to The Herald Group where she currently focuses her practice on crisis communications, media relations and a host of advocacy and issues management.

Jeanie has been active in both communications positions and electoral politics throughout her career and brings a unique understanding of the dynamics between policy, advocacy and political campaigns and the press inside and outside of Washington.

Prior to joining The Herald Group, Jeanie was senior vice president at a large public affairs firm where she worked on issues ranging from the recent health care reform debate to energy issues and financial services.

Prior to that she served as Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Director of Media Affairs in the Bush Administration. In this position, Jeanie oversaw outreach to all outside-the-beltway media, including local TV media, radio media, Hispanic, African-American and religious media. Her office dealt with issues ranging from the 9/11 terrorist attacks to Hurricane Katrina.

Jeanie has also worked on three presidential campaigns in communications positions and spent 10 years on Capitol Hill in both the House and Senate.

Jeanie holds a BA in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
