Teresa Schofield draws on her significant public policy, corporate and trade association expertise to provide strategic communications and media relations counsel to The Herald Group’s clients. She is accomplished in orchestrating innovative public affairs campaigns aimed at addressing a number of key legislative and regulatory debates, working in partnership with government affairs and marketing counterparts. 

Teresa came to The Herald Group from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where she was the primary public affairs counsel for the organization’s government affairs team.  While at MBA, Teresa played a key role in efforts to respond to the impact Hurricane Katrina placed upon homeowners in the Gulf Coast area, including development of PSAs, op-eds and Congressional testimony, as well as hosting informational grasstops events in Louisiana and Mississippi. 

Prior to MBA, Teresa worked for a leading national public affairs firm, focusing on technology and telecommunications clients. She led several third-party outreach campaigns in support of lobbying efforts at the federal level and developed political involvement campaigns to bolster the political action committees (PAC) and grassroots activities of several Fortune 500 companies. 

Teresa also worked in the office of then-Congressman Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) where she handled a diverse portfolio of domestic policy issues, including telecommunications, energy, housing, small business and labor.

Teresa previously worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the White House during the Clinton Administration. She has also held positions on Wall Street at JP Morgan and at Wachovia Bank in Atlanta.  Teresa holds a BS in Business from Wake Forest University.
