A Season of Recognition for The Herald Group’s Digital Team

As the Digital Director at The Herald Group, it’s always a thrill to learn about the objectives of our clients and put together forward-thinking and innovative digital campaigns to meet those directives. We often see those efforts moving the needle in discussions online and among state and federal officials, accomplishing specific goals for our clients. Because of the nature of public affairs consulting, much of this work is behind the scenes, and credit is rightly given to the clients. Occasionally, however, the work of our team is recognized by industry experts. The digital team at The Herald Group is celebrating several such acknowledgments in the past few months.

First, our Chief Digital Strategist, Todd Van Etten, was recognized as a Digital Leader of the Year in PR News. After serving in several senior positions in the national political and public affairs world, Todd was appointed to lead the THG digital team seven years ago and has since built a dedicated practice and team with a wide array of creative and technology expertise. His guidance at the helm has repeatedly delivered for our clients and built a talented bench of leading digital practitioners helping redefine advocacy.

With that, we are just as proud of our entire digital team's recognition for our work with the Team Achievement Award by the AVA Digital Awards. We take pride in knowing this is a result of our ability to blend unique strategy development along with cutting-edge technology across a wide range of projects spanning multi-channel advertising campaigns, analytics and online listening reports, website builds, social strategy, digital advocacy programs, and more. For each of these, we prefer to write every plan from scratch rather than relying on cookie-cutter outlines because we know that every client’s resources, situation, and goals are unique. Within our firm, our line of sight across projects and clients also positions us to act as a central hub for documenting and sharing insights and measurements to make the entire team better at executing creative and data-tested campaigns.

The catalyst that continues to propel our team to innovate and grow is the challenges brought to us by our clients. We do not take for granted when we get to prove our chops on new projects or continue to deliver for those clients who have been with us for 15+ years. And while this recognition is celebrated, we are still excited to see what new challenges push us to grow continuously.
