The Herald Group Names Van Etten as First Chief Digital Strategist

WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 9, 2015 – Herald Group, LLC, a national bipartisan public affairs and issues management firm, today announced that Todd Van Etten, a recognized innovator in the digital advocacy space, has joined the company as Chief Digital Strategist.

Van Etten will be responsible for adding a deeper integration of advanced digital advocacy techniques and advertising into The Herald Group’s already industry-leading public affairs campaigns. He will be tasked with growing the firm’s interactive and digital offerings and team, as well as working with THG staff to sharpen and expand the firm’s digital capabilities and expertise for the benefit of its clients.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Todd to our ever-growing team of highly skilled and accomplished professionals. Todd brings with him a wealth of experience integrating the best of digital campaigning into large-scale public affairs campaigns,” said Matt Well, managing partner of The Herald Group, “His expertise will ensure THG continues to stay ahead of the curve offering our clients the sophisticated suite of services they’ve come to know and expect.”

Van Etten has nearly a decade of experience counseling trade associations, coalitions, Fortune 500 companies and political candidates from posts as Vice President of Digital for the Advocacy Group, Inc. and a Director of Digital Strategy at Burson-Marsteller.

Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Van Etten spent six years in the New Media department of the Republican National Committee, starting as office assistant and eventually rising to Director. A highlight came in 2010, when he lead the RNC’s digital efforts ahead of the historic 63 House seat pickup.

“The Herald Group has a strong reputation for building robust, integrated campaigns around very complex issues,” Van Etten said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such a stellar team and for impressive clients.”

Van Etten joins a growing lineup of talent at The Herald Group. The firm added four communications professionals earlier this year to meet the needs of an expanding client list for the DC powerhouse.
