The Herald Group Welcomes Public Affairs and Policy Veteran Diane Tomb as Strategic Advisor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – October 20, 2015 – The Herald Group, LLC, a national bipartisan public affairs and issues management firm, today announced a strategic partnership with Tomb & Associates to leverage their respective services and capabilities.  As part of the partnership, Tomb & Associates founder, Diane Leneghan Tomb will serve as strategic advisor to The Herald Group’s executive team.  Tomb’s vast experience with a variety of organizations as well as her expertise on key policy issues, such as finance, housing, infrastructure, energy, and telecommunications and technology, will help support the firm’s continued growth and expansion.

“We’ve known and worked with Diane for years and we are excited to have her play a more official role with respect to our firm’s growth strategy,” said Matt Well, managing partner of The Herald Group. “We place a premium on building a team that is not only knowledgeable on policy, advocacy, and communications strategy, but that is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their broader business and organizational objectives.  In addition to our existing professional staff, Diane’s executive and policy expertise helps further this critical component of the firm’s capabilities.”

In addition to founding Tomb & Associates, Tomb has served in several high level government positions at the White House and Cabinet Agencies, as well as having had senior roles in national and statewide political campaigns.  She was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and was a senior executive at Burson-Marsteller. From 2011-2013, Tomb served as the President and CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

“Working in partnership with The Herald Group, I see a unique opportunity to leverage our different, but complimentary skill sets to offer a broader array of client services across several evolving industry sectors,” Tomb said.  “Stay tuned as we’ve already initiated several new client engagements and look to build out even more in the coming months.”

Tomb currently serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and a commissioner on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Commission on Political Reform.  She also is a member of the International Women’s Forum of Washington, DC, a global group of leading women in business, law, government, medicine, technology and the arts and sciences.
