Welcome to The Herald Group, Ansley!

THG recently welcomed Ansley Bradwell to The Herald Group as our newest director, bringing her political and communications expertise from the Hill and previous non-profits. She has already been a valuable addition to the THG team and has integrated herself into the work for several client accounts. We sat down with Ansley for a quick Q&A so you can get to know more about her and help us in welcoming her to our team.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Milton, Georgia, and am a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. My interest in government and policy brought me to Washington, DC in 2018, and I have enjoyed working in political communications ever since.

Prior to joining The Herald Group, I served as Press Secretary for US Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. Before my time on Capitol Hill, I did communications and media relations work for Americans for Prosperity and The LIBRE Initiative.

Outside of work, I love taking fitness classes and trying new restaurants in DC.

What excites you the most about working in public affairs?

Public affairs enables people to tell their stories in a meaningful way. As professionals in that space, we have the ability to elevate the voices of businesses, organizations, and individuals to influence policy.

What energizes or inspires you?

It sounds cliche, but I am most inspired by helping others. During my time on the Hill, I felt most fulfilled when we were able to pass laws that would make a real difference in the lives of people. Working for THG, I am excited to channel my passion in order to help clients achieve their goals and continue helping people at the same time.

What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learned in your career?

In my career thus far, I have learned the importance of being adaptable to ever-changing situations and circumstances. From unexpected obstacles in getting a bill passed to bad weather disrupting a planned event, adapting quickly is key to success.

What drew you to THG?

Making the decision to transition from the Hill to public affairs was not easy, but the talented people at The Herald Group made me confident I was making the right decision. I am excited to collaborate with other team members to build creative and effective strategies. I am also looking forward to growing professionally as a communicator in this new role.

What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?

Looking at the Capitol building will always take my breath away. No other city in America has buildings as awe-striking as Washington DC, and I love being surrounded by history every day. DC also has many unique neighborhoods throughout the city, which all have something special to offer.
