Welcome to The Herald Group, Caroline!

At the end of 2020, The Herald Group welcomed our newest director, Caroline Ponseti. In just her first few weeks Caroline is already helping clients build communications campaigns that advance their state-by-state policy goals as state legislatures come back into session. Please join us in welcoming her to the team and if you haven’t met her yet, let us introduce her to you below.

Tell us a little about yourself.

My passion for political communications has taken me across all aspects of the political process, from leading a trade association’s media relations to working on political campaigns in Louisiana and Tennessee and serving as press secretary on Capitol Hill. Outside of work, I can be found supporting DC’s food scene, experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring the city.

What excites you the most about working in public affairs?

I’ve always been fascinated by how organizations effectively communicate their messages to the public. I’m excited to work alongside such a talented group of communicators at The Herald Group and learn new tactics every day to build even better campaigns.

What’s the best thing you’ve watched or read in the past 5 years?

I’m a big history nerd and fan of George Washington. A few years ago, I read Washington’s Circle: The Creation of the President and loved the insight it provided into Washington’s personality and why the founders located the capital along the Potomac—just down the road from Mt. Vernon.

What do you like most about The Herald Group?

Though I’ve only been at The Herald Group a short time, it’s evident that THG puts a heavy emphasis on culture. This is one of the things that most drew me to the organization and has been something I’ve enjoyed about coming to work every day.

What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?

DC has such a vibrant food scene that reflects the diverse cultures that make up our city—from the Ethiopian restaurants that have lined U St. for decades to the country’s longest-running outdoor fish market at the Wharf. I’m continuously adding to my list of favorite spots and can’t wait to explore the lunch offerings near The Herald Group’s office.
