John Rich is a Director at The Herald Group and comes with almost a decade’s worth of political and communication experience. His role includes providing clients with strategic public affairs guidance, which includes message development, creative content, and grassroots communications, to help navigate the political landscape at the federal, state, and local level.
Prior to joining The Herald Group, John worked at Stand Together Communications, the Koch Network’s communication arm, and primarily supported their grassroots advocacy organization Americans for Prosperity developing comprehensive marketing and communication plans to drive legislative outcomes. He oversaw cross-functional teams developing content development, branding, and paid media strategy ranging in size and scope, specializing in policy communications and grassroots outreach. At the same time, he served as the spokesperson for state-based chapters to drive earned media on various initiatives.
John previously worked at the boutique communications firm, Black Rock Group, where helped guide successful Senate and Congressional campaigns and major issue advocacy initiatives primarily in the technology and regulatory space. He also has experience on Capitol Hill and was a part of a successful Congressional campaign after completing his undergraduate degree.
John graduated from James Madison University and earned his degree in political science. Originally from Hauppauge, NY, John lives in Springfield with his wife and two young boys.
