I grew up in a small town called Paris in Northwest Tennessee, and I studied Political Economy at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. My hobbies include watching basketball, cooking, and reading!

What excites you the most about working in public affairs?

Working in public affairs brings a unique perspective to the narratives in the media. It’s a behind-the-scenes look into the things you see on the news, and it’s fascinating to be in the mix of it.

What’s the best thing you’ve watched or read in the past 5 years?

J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s The Food Lab. In early 2020 when restaurants shut down, Kenji’s writings and videos helped me learn to cook and gave me a new passion! His recipes are accessible and delicious, and his work explains the why behind everyday cooking.

What drew you to THG?

I love the community aspect of THG and the opportunity to work with such encouraging, passionate, and hardworking individuals. I am constantly learning and given the opportunity to push myself each day.

What is your favorite thing about Washington, DC?

Coming from Memphis, I love being in such a walkable city. I live in Logan Circle, and the ability to get to anything in the city without a car is a welcome change. There’s always something new, and I’ve had a lot of fun since I’ve been here.
