The Herald Group Qualifies as Finalist for Prestigious Thoth Awards

The Herald Group and National Federation for Independent Business (NFIB) campaign website, NoNewEnergyTaxes.org has been named a finalist for the 2016 Thoth Awards.

As part of a larger campaign to push back against the implementation of a costly energy tax framed as a low carbon fuel standard in Washington state, THG worked with NFIB to develop an advocacy website – NoNewEnergyTaxes.org. The website effectively communicated the impact this fuel standard would have on small businesses in the state and provided resources for constituents to make their voices heard. As a result of the campaign, awareness and opposition of the issue increased significantly and legislators in Washington blocked the implementation of the standard. We are happy to see the success of the website and our collaboration being recognized.

Named on behalf of the Egyptian god of communication, the 2016 Thoth Awards recognize the best strategic public relations programs and tactics developed and produced in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. We are excited to be among the group of talented finalist. Winners will be announced at the 48th Annual Thoth Awards Gala on September 22, 2016.
