A mid-level position, the director will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of client team activities with increasing client interaction, interfacing with client contacts, executing on new account programs, client initiatives and media relations projects, contributing to plans and strategies and overall servicing of client accounts in close collaboration with a Vice President. Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of communications experience. PR agency or public policy communications experience preferred
  • Ability to recommend and initiate work and projects with minimal direction

  • Good interpersonal skills, works effectively in a team environment, can negotiate approvals diplomatically, and maintain composure and quality under constant deadline pressure

Responsibilities:

Work may include, and is not limited to, any or all of the following:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communications programs
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of client programs and client relationships, including media monitoring, issue research, project updates and internal team management
  • Serve as primary contact and lead for certain client projects
  • Build relationships and position self and firm as a strategic partner with clients, colleagues and relevant external audiences
  • Manage and coach junior staff on accounts
  • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content, including traditional media correspondence, op-eds, letters to the editor, strategy memos and plans, as well as writing for social media and the web

Field Engagement Manager

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years’ experience, preferably in a public affairs agency, state capitol, congressional office or a campaign, or within a media / journalism outlet.
  • Understanding of politics, field operations, and media
  • Demonstrate a baseline understanding of grassroots and grasstops field campaigns including the business model and functions of field team engagement.
  • Possess strong organizational skills including ability to manage detailed reporting including budget trackers and influencer targeting lists.
  • Ability to communicate and problem solve with field teams, create productive working relationships with field network and lead field team calls on behalf of client projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and see them through to completion.
  • Experience writing an assortment of materials for varied audience.

Responsibilities:

Outreach Coordinator

Whether to further validate the organization’s position or to give critical mass from an advocacy standpoint, a bench of third party champions with shared policy interests at the national and state level can create an echo chamber to better position a client’s needs on specific legislative, legal, and regulatory debates. The Outreach Coordinator would be responsible for building off existing internal relationships to maintain and grow the firm’s associations with third parties in both the think tank, advocacy and academic spheres of influence.

The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, good writing and verbal communication ability as well as excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media. The candidate should be a team player and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time. Responsibilities include executing day to day engagements including relationship building and management, content development, issues research, and strategic insight into third party activities.

Assignments including but not limited to:

  • Thorough research on third party organizations policy positions and past actions
  • Represent THG before individual and multi-party groups (weekly meetings, events, general networking, etc.)
